Lifelong Health & Behavioral Benefits

This routine procedure does more than just control pet overpopulation—it's an investment in your pet's long-term health.

Benefits of Spaying (Females)

  • Virtually eliminates the risk of pyometra (uterine infection), a life-threatening condition that affects 1 in 4 unspayed female dogs.

  • Drastically reduces the risk of mammary (breast) tumors. Spaying before the first heat cycle cuts the risk to just 0.5%.

  • Eliminates heat cycles and associated behaviors, leading to a calmer, happier companion.

Benefits of Neutering (Males)

  • Eliminates the risk of testicular cancer, a common cancer in older unneutered males.

  • Significantly reduces the risk of prostate issues, including enlargement and infections.

  • Reduces undesirable behaviors like roaming in up to 90% of males, territory marking, and certain types of aggression.

Your Peace of Mind is Our Priority

We address your biggest concerns—timing, safety, and cost—with a process designed for your pet's specific needs.

A Personalized Plan for Your Pet

There is no "one-size-fits-all" answer for when to spay or neuter. Timing depends on crucial factors like your pet's breed, size, lifestyle, and overall health. Our doctors will take the time to discuss the latest research with you and create a personalized plan that is best for your individual pet, ensuring the best possible outcome.

Our Unwavering Commitment to Anesthesia Safety

We know that anesthesia can be the most stressful part of any procedure for a pet owner. Your pet's safety is our absolute top priority. Our all-inclusive packages cover these vital protocols to ensure their well-being.

We are equipped for same-day pre-anesthetic blood tests to ensure your pet is fully prepared. During the procedure, a dedicated veterinary technician is assigned to do nothing but monitor your pet's vital signs, including:

  • Blood Pressure & ECG (Heart Rhythm)

  • Blood Oxygen Levels (SpO2) & Respiration

  • Core Body Temperature

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the surgery painful for my pet?

We take a multi-faceted approach to pain management, providing medication before, during, and after the procedure to keep your pet as comfortable as possible. We will also send you home with pain medication for their recovery.

How long is the recovery period?

Most pets are back to their normal selves within a few days, but we recommend restricting strenuous activity for about 10-14 days to allow the incision to heal properly. We will provide detailed aftercare instructions.

Will my pet's personality change?

Your pet's core personality will not change. However, you may notice a reduction in undesirable hormone-driven behaviors like roaming, marking, or aggression, which most owners see as a positive change.

What Our Clients Say?

I don’t give more stars because the system doesn’t allow me to do so, but Dr. Kevin and all the staff at MCVH are just WONDERFUL. I trust my dog and two cats under their care with my eyes closed. Every time I needed to exchange information or had questions or concerns about any of my pets, the staff was just ready and prompt to answer and help. My dog even has one of the staff members as her favorite person there and that’s what tells me she is always well taken care of and loved there too. Prices are reasonable and I don’t regret my choice of a vet team for my pets. Thank you everyone at the MCVH for all the care and love with my Finn, Pebbles and Molly.

“Dr. Yun and his staff provide excellent veterinary services. My dog Toto had severe diarrhea for two weeks, and his regular vet in Downtown Seattle only gave him probiotics, which didn't help. Dr. Yun was able to fit us into his schedule for urgent treatment. He examined Toto thoroughly and gently, prescribed the right antibiotics, and Toto's diarrhea stopped after taking them.

My dog Lexi developed a UTI over the weekend and I couldn’t find any emergency or urgent care vets that could get her in. I called MC Veterinary Hospital on Monday morning and the receptionist was so kind and went and spoke to the vet and he agreed to see Lexi if I brought her in today. I immediately drove there and everyone in the clinic was so nice and welcoming. They made me (and Lexi) feel like a priority. I will definitely be coming back here again! Would highly recommend!
